Lords of Dogtown Soundtrack

As an old school skateboarder (remember Powell boards, Kryptonite and Simms wheels and Tracker Trucks? Still got ‘em!) looking at the line-up for the soundtrack to the upcoming Lords of Dogtown movie made my heart go all pitter patter. I mean Foghat, Deep Purple and Iggy Pop all on one record? I know it’s all nostalgia but that’s damn cool! Plus it features Social Distortion and Rise Against for the young guns so we can all be happy. Excuse me while I dig up my old Sabbath records.
Later.

I might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I heard a song by Neil Young towards the end of the movie, perhaps the “old man, look at my life, I’m a lot you you…” and it’s not on the soundtrack! why would they leave that great song out?

  10. Inquisita B Says:

Ok, you guys are my last hope. Given that you’ve seen the movie…at the end when the 3 guys are rolling around Sid in his wheelchair along the walls of the pool, a sort of slow song is played and it’s not “Wish You Were Here”, it plays right before that.

Does ANYONE know this song, please??

  13. joe Says:

  17. Triple A Says:

  20. Jackie Says:

The song played on the part of jay dancing to stacy’s girlfriend is called ballroom blitz. I’m not sure who it’s by though. I love it and the movie!

  21. elise Says:

ok i know the postings are really old and i dont know if anyone looks on here anymore and you probably found the answers to your questions but: they do play “Old Man” by Neil Young, the reggae song at Tony’s party is “Stepping Razor” by Peter Tosh, Its not “son of a bitch” by ACDC its “Hair of the Dog” by Nazareth, going in the zephyr store is “I just want to make love to you” by Foghat, the voodoo child song in the movie is by Stevie Ray Vaughan originally by Jimi Hendrix, and incase you didnt know the “wish you were here” in the movie is a cover of pink floyd by Radiohead with Sparklehorse

  22. manny Says:

hey…wats the song at the menu of the dvd?..the sick solo…it sounds a loooot like jimi hendrix..but i dont know the exact song

  23. biznsgirl Says:

As for Jackie’s comment, it was right on track. All of the artist mentioned and the songs are in exact correspondence. If you are truly desperate to find out the name of the song and the artist that you like…try renting the dvd and slowing it during the credits. The songs usually go in sequence of the movie as they are played.

  24. neugs Says:

  25. Carson Says:
