THE CALL UP
"I tried to apply common sense. I tried to apply common sense.
But in the end it didn't make any sense."

from No Big Deal, The Call Up EP

THE STORY
"If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s assembling people from different backgrounds and making it work as a collective" states Patrick Naud, singer for the Call Up. Having played with most of his bandmates in past projects, he knew that this mix was just right.

After spending most of 2004 writing songs about disappointments, break-ups and the bleak human condition, he recorded a few of them and passed some tapes around. A number of friends came knocking at his door and offered just what he needed. What started as a solo/studio project soon became a tight unit. Fuelled by disenchantment and disgusted/'bored to death' with the current "disposable/fast-food" trend in music and entertainment, they set out to write songs that wouldn’t sound like burger commercials. Don’t get them wrong, they love to hum to the sound of a great pop tune but c’mon.... how many pre-fab, siliconed, motormouth, pierced & tattooed well-mannered gangsta mall punks can you handle?

Doesn’t reality look more and more like fiction to you? Don’t you ever feel cheated?

Enough already!!!

The Call Up knows exactly what they want and will take your sons and daughters along with them to get it. Hailing from Montreal, the guys have all played in other bands that you’ve probably heard of but really... who cares? This is new. This is year zero... This is: The Call Up... Can you hear it?
